Crass Art is a gallery on the first floor of a residential building in London. It was founded in 2026 to show the work of a single artist, who is also the founder, the curator, the technician and the person who answers the emails.
No work is currently on display. This is a temporary condition and not a curatorial position.
Works
- 1 Je ne sais wha…
- 2 Untitled
- 3 Untitled
- 4 Untitled
The inaugural programme is being made in the evenings and at weekends. Works are added here as they are finished, rather than as they are begun, which the gallery considers the more honest of the two conventions.
Visit
Opening
By appointment only. The gallery is otherwise in use as a living room and cannot accommodate passing trade.
Location
London. The full address is provided once an appointment is confirmed, for reasons the gallery considers obvious.
Your visit
Appointments last around forty-five minutes. Tea is offered and should be accepted. The sofa is not part of the exhibition and is not for sale.
About
Crass Art was founded on the principle that a gallery is defined by its programme rather than its square footage, and on the more practical principle that commercial rents in London are what they are.
The gallery has no board, no patrons and no opening hours. It has a wall with good light between two and four in the afternoon, and a founder with a day job that is considerably duller than this one.
The name is a joke. The work, eventually, will not be.
